Seduction is an art. An art that is a balance between hiding and revealing, enfolding and unfolding, to suggest and to let imagination play its role. Inducing dream and rêverie, ambiguity is the key of this process of seduction and also characterizes these women’s relation to society: an ambiguous status between objectification and empowerment.
To address this condition, the proposal aims to enfold a space of liberty and reinvention where the starlets can exist in a new way, animated by the moving observer. A seduction theatre where perceptual ambiguity gives life to an immersive and memorable experience.
We propose to transform the original Pin-ups’ photographs through a process of montage, greatly inspired by cinematographic production and its formal qualities. This process creates an optical apparatus, the star, that materializes this idea of ambiguity, deeply rooted in seduction and its manifestation in the starlets’ pictures.
